The Lincolnshire Chamber Orchestra was originally established by Malcolm Goodman MBE in 2002 as the North Kesteven Chamber Orchestra. However, subsequent popularity and enquiries from other Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire based choral societies widened the orchestra's development as the county's own professional chamber orchestra, with performances taking place throughout the region.
The orchestra was renamed the Lincolnshire Chamber Orchestra in 2004 and now operates as a fully professional orchestra performing on a freelance basis around the county and beyond for local choral societies.
In addition to its regular local professional players, the orchestra attracts instrumentalists from many of the UK's major orchestras including The London Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera North, Welsh National Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Swan, London Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia Viva and London Pops Orchestra.
With an increasing number of concert bookings, although the orchestra regularly performs at its main venue of Lincoln Cathedral, in partnership with various other choral societies it also performs at St Botolph's Church Boston, Southwell Minster, St James' Church Louth, St Mary and St Nicholas Church Spalding and St Denys Church Sleaford.
The orchestra welcomes concert proposals from other choral societies so if you would like us to consider a concert with your own choral society, please use the 'Contact Us' form below to get in touch.
